Your Roadmap to Postgraduate Education with NAAZ Study Abroad
Germany is one of the top destinations for international students seeking a Master’s degree. With tuition-free education at most public universities, world-class academic standards, and a booming job market, it's easy to see why Germany is a preferred choice.
However, to secure admission into a German university, you must meet specific eligibility criteria and prepare your documentation carefully. At NAAZ Study Abroad, we help you understand and navigate these requirements with clarity.
General Eligibility Criteria
Here are the fundamental requirements to apply for a Master’s degree in Germany:
1. Recognized Bachelor’s Degree
-
You must hold a recognized undergraduate degree equivalent to a German bachelor's.
-
If your degree is from a non-EU country (e.g., India), it should be listed in the Anabin database or recognized by the university.
2. Academic Performance
-
A good academic record is essential. Many universities expect a minimum of 70% or CGPA of 7.0+ (varies by program).
-
Competitive programs may demand even higher scores.
3. Language Proficiency
Depending on the language of instruction:
-
English-Taught Programs:
IELTS: 6.0 – 6.5 minimum
TOEFL: 80 – 90 iBT
Some universities may waive this if your bachelor's was in English.
-
German-Taught Programs:
TestDaF, DSH, or Goethe-Zertifikat B2/C1 required
Learning German is a big advantage even for English programs.
4. GRE/GMAT (if applicable)
-
Not mandatory for all programs.
-
Some technical and management courses at top universities may ask for GRE or GMAT scores.
5. Motivation Letter (SOP)
-
Clearly express why you want to study in Germany, your academic background, goals, and how the program fits your career plans.
-
This is a key document in your application.
6. Letters of Recommendation (LORs)
-
Usually 1–2 academic or professional references.
-
Should reflect your strengths, academic ability, and character.
7. Resume (CV)
-
A well-formatted, concise CV in Europass format is commonly required.
-
Highlight academics, internships, projects, and relevant experience.
